Overview of Pallet Turners

What types of pallet inverters are currently available? Choose from a variety of pallet inverter / exchanger models and styles, built with a heavy duty construction to handle any application.

  • Single clamp: The single clamp models are our most popular pallet turners. These stationary inverters have a load capacity of up to 4,400 pounds and come in five standard sizes to accommodate your load height requirements. With few moving parts, this can be a quality solution for any business that needs a simple but effective pallet inverter.
  • Dual clamp: For varying height loads, a dual clamp industrial pallet inverter might be the better choice. It has the largest clamping range of all currently available inverters, with a 4,400-pound load capacity. A dual clamp model is typically the best choice for inbound load transfers that entail a variety of package and container types and sizes.
  • Ground loading: Facilities with limited space or a lack of heavy lifting equipment like forklifts might not be the ideal location for a standard pallet rotator inverter. The ground loading inverter is designed specifically to be used in conjunction with manual and electric pallet trucks, improving supply chain efficiency without the need for additional heavy equipment.
  • Ramp loaded: The ramp loaded inverter is similar to the ground loading model but does require a six to eight-foot-long ramp for loading. It has a higher clamping force than the ground loader and is ideal for commercial printers or corrugated plants.
  • Stainless steel: A stainless steel pallet inverter is ideal for companies with high sanitary standards such as the food, baking, and pharmaceutical industriers. The DC Inverter may not necessarily be constructed completely of stainless steel but the key areas such as the clamping plate platform, interior side wall, and back plates are. Stainless steel is easy to clean and offers excellent resistance to corrosion. The Stainless Steel/Combo Transfer System (CTS), another stainless steel inverter option, is ideal for applications where liquids are involved. This unit is designed to be ground loaded and has a movable sidewall to provide cradle/support for the round or octagonal combo boxes.
  • Custom: If none of these options look like they’ll fit your business, consider a custom pallet inverter. These can be built from the ground up to your exact specifications, fully fabricated and shipped in eight weeks or less. Examples of customization options may include extended lengths and widths as well as increased load capacities and the inclusion of pallet grippers.

Features of Pallet Inverter Machines

A pallet inverter will help reduce your production, storage, distribution and retrieval costs while making pallet 'swaps' quick and easy. You can load and transfer products from pallet to pallet or a slip sheet or rental pallet. Other features of our pallet flippers include:

  • Invert or transfer different load types with variable load heights
  • Easily transport and load by forklift
  • Easy-to-use push-button controls accessible from the seat of the lift truck
  • Handrail guarding and other safety features available
  • Maintenance locks
  • Counterbalance valves to hold and maintain pressure
  • Foot obstruction photo eye to prevent potential pinch point

Pallet Inverter Applications

Pallet inverters have several potential applications. They allow you to quickly rotate, swap out or transfer heavy loads with a minimal amount of effort. Our pallet inverters rotate at 180 degrees to make pallet exchange quick and simple. They are also used to facilitate the replacement of pallets that have become broken or otherwise compromised during transit.

Cherry Machine

For certain pharmaceutical, food and other powder products, regular rotation is necessary to prevent caking, settling or spoilage. Using a pallet inverter or skid flipper simplifies this process and reduces the risk of injury to crew members while the work is performed.

In many situations, damaged goods end up at the bottom of the load. Pallet turners make it easier to retrieve and replace the damaged items without having to sort through and disrupt the entire shipment. This will save a significant amount of time and effort for your employees.

Pallet inverters are also used to move loads from one type of pallet to another. This is useful in clean production facilities where it is necessary to move materials shipped in on a wooden pallet to a sanitary plastic base during processing. If you use slip sheets in your material handling operation, pallet inverters can facilitate the transfer of goods from the pallet to the sheet.

You can use pallet inverters to:

  • Eliminate the need to restock pallets manually
  • Help rotate a pallet load 180 degrees in less than a minute
  • Transfer from pallets to slip sheets
  • Access and replace damaged goods at the bottom of the load without restacking
  • Square up pallet loads
  • Invert metal sheets for stamping

Other Industries That Can Use Pallet Inverters

Examples of industries other than pharmaceutical and food that can benefit from using our pallet rotator tables include:

  • Automotive: Automobile manufacturers as well as parts suppliers/distributors.
  • Beverage: Manufacturers and suppliers that handle case lots of beer and soda.
  • Construction: Companies that handle all types of construction equipment, machinery, parts and components.
  • General Manufacturing: Organizations that produce, store, ship and handle various types of manufactured goods.
  • Warehousing/Distribution: General warehouse and distribution operations for just about any industry.
  • Landscape/Lawn: Manufacturers and distributors of landscaping and lawn care products.

Any industry that turns a product 180 degrees can use a pallet inverter. For example, printers have to turn their products to print on both sides of a sheet of paper. Vineyards also invert wine bottles once the cork expands and they need to store the bottles long-term. Even cheese makers invert products during the maturation process to give cheese the taste people enjoy.

If you work within the construction industry, you know just how heavy building materials can be. Imagine you just received a shipment of dry concrete mix, and you happen to notice some of the lower bags have tears in them. Rather than strain your workers, a pallet flipper is ideal for inverting orders and correcting the problem. With the push of a button, your staff can gauge inventory numbers and remove products that are wet, broken or punctured.

Businesses large and small have the power to reduce product waste and workplace injuries by implementing pallet handling equipment from Cherry's. Whether you select one of our turnkey pallet inverters or create a custom design for your company, docking/storage procedures take less time and can be performed more safely. Your employees will be thankful for the resources available, and the tasks will be completed with fewer workers involved. This means you can properly manage your staff and distribute responsibilities accordingly. Business outputs will increase in no time at all after you decide on the pallet inverter for your applications.

Benefits of Pallet Inverters

A pallet inverter is a piece of equipment designed to manipulate fully loaded pallets. These pallets can be lifted, tilted or even entirely inverted, which allows for the easy retrieval of broken items from the bottom of loaded pallets or even switching loads from one pallet to another. The latter application is often used in the food and pharmaceutical industries to shift loads from wooden pallets to plastic ones that are considered more hygienic.

Their ability to easily retrieve broken items is essential to help your warehouse meet OSHA requirements and maintain a safe workplace. The removal of broken pallets and other damaged goods at the bottom of the task is a dangerous task by hand. Cherry's pallet inverters promote the best of best practices by prioritizing safe work standards without sacrificing the efficiency of company operations.

Using a pallet inverter takes the laborious task of unwrapping, moving and rewrapping pallet loads out of your hands and enhances the organization and performance of your warehouse. This reduces processing times and helps lower the amount of human labor required to adjust pallets or retrieve broken items during shipment. With the ability to move, rotate and stack products like never before, your business can efficiently store the materials you need to with no delay. Cherry's pallet inverters promote healthy storage techniques and keep the items in your inventory consistent and free from damage. There are many benefits to investing in a pallet inverter for your facility. When you match the right equipment to the task, it can:

  • Increase productivity: Pallet rotators and 180-degree pallet flippers integrate into your workflow in a way that a lift truck or jack can’t. They may also require less staff to do the same job, which frees up your team to work on other tasks.
  • Reduce risks: No matter how careful you are, handling heavy pallets using a forklift will always present an element of risk. Pallet inverters automate the process, which means less chance of an accident that can cost you money and jeopardize your productivity.
  • Save space: Use a pallet inverter in tight spaces where lift trucks can't go. Our pallet rotators are designed to work with all material handling and shipping equipment, so you have greater flexibility in how you set up your facility and organize your workflow.
  • Enhanced efficiency: Integrating a pallet rotator inverter into your material handling operation will enable your team to work smarter, not harder. You will be able to eliminate redundancies that would otherwise waste time and increase your operating costs.
  • Minimizing product damage: Manual material handling practices can often result in inadvertent damage to goods. Our pallet flippers reduce the need for human intervention, which can significantly lower the chances of dropping or mishandling. Your customers will incur fewer incidents of damaged shipments, resulting in higher satisfaction levels and increased retention.
  • Creating a safer work environment: Ensuring safe worksite practices is more important than ever in today's material handling operations. Our pallet inverters are designed and engineered with injury prevention in mind. Your workers will miss fewer days of work, and you won't have to deal with as many costly workers' compensation claims or potential OSHA violations.

'Cherry, Cherry' is a 1966 song written, composed, and recorded by American musician Neil Diamond.

    Background[edit]

    Cherry

The song was recorded in February - March 1966, and was originally intended as a demo, arranged by Artie Butler and produced by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. It was issued as a 45 single in 1966 where Greenwich came up with the chorus and can be heard as the prominent background voice, accompanied by Jeff Barry. Diamond has stated that the song was inspired by an early relationship with a significantly older woman.[5] Session guitarist Al Gorgoni (who later played on 'The Sound of Silence' by Simon & Garfunkel and 'Brown Eyed Girl' by Van Morrison) contributed to the song.Rolling Stone would later label 'Cherry, Cherry' as 'one of the greatest three-chord songs of all time.'[6]

    Reception[edit]

Billboard described the single as an 'exciting production [which] features bass piano backing and choral support of Diamond's vocal work.'[7]

    Chart performance[edit]

'Cherry, Cherry' was Diamond's first big hit,[1][8] reaching #6 on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart,[8] in October 1966,[1] and the Cash Box chart. In 1973 a live recording of 'Cherry, Cherry' was issued as a 45 single from Diamond's live album Hot August Night (1972). The live version hit #24 on the Cash Box chart and #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[8]Billboard said that 'the live sound and the bouncing arrangement makes it almost a different song' from the original studio version.[7]

Two versions of 'Cherry, Cherry' have been released. The version familiar to most listeners was recorded in late January 1966 and released by Bang Records in mid-1966, and was recorded as a demo, with Butler on keyboards, and Barry and Greenwich on backing vocals and hand-claps.[9] The other version, with different lyrics and originally intended to be released as the single, was finally released by Diamond and Sony Music Entertainment in 1996 on the compilation album In My Lifetime.

    Cover versions[edit]

    • Dizzy Gillespie recorded a cover of this song for his 1966 LP, The Melody Lingers On (on Limelight Records).
    • The Music Machine recorded a cover of this song on their 1966 LP, (Turn On) The Music Machine (on Original Sound).
    • Joe Dassin recorded a cover of this song in French on their 1970 LP, Joe Dassin (La Fleur aux dents) (on CBS Disques).
    • Jonathan King recorded a cover of this song in 1970 and it became a hit all over Europe, especially in the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
    • Kramer recorded a cover of this song for his 2012 solo LP, The Brill Building (on Tzadik Records).[10] Sung entirely in Spanish/Cubano, it is the first known version of the song to have not been sung in English.

    In popular culture[edit]

The song was used through the movie Saving Silverman, and in the introduction of the character Veronica Corningstone in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.[11]
